Signs of the Times

As most here on Culebra know (along with quite a few of our visitors) Abbie's school kids help out with with turtle monitoring on Zoni Beach, an important part of taking care of Culebra's precious assets! One of the things they do is make signs for the marked off turtle nests. As I looked at the signs, it was fun to see how individual they were, even with basically the same message. So I took photos of most of them...hopefully there will be many more to come!

Would you rather look at this sign?

Or these?

Thanks to all of the children who work on these signs and to Abbie and her crew for teaching them to care about the turtles of their island home. While many, in Abbie's school and other groups and individuals work behind the scenes, people we rarely or never see or hear about , these works of art are right out there to remind us of something magical that happens year in, year out, before we got on the planet and hopefully, for many more generations to come.
