the sky went dark, and now we're being slammed with rain. So much for doing a slow drying laundry.
I'm listening to an ad from St. Croix. Here is the written version:
Jun 2 2010 - 9:30am - 3:00pm
The V.I. Department of Agriculture invites the public to the Abattoir Open/Farmers Meat Market Day Activity. The open house will feature a variety of fresh local meats, chicken, eggs and produce for sale. A tour of the operations and upgrades of the abattoir will be conducted. Come out and support V.I. farmers; buy local and eat fresh.
Location:
AbattoirI always thought the abattoir was a very neat thing...on big holidays there were always announcements on the radio and in the paper to get your meat critters to the Abattoir early to avoid not getting your holiday meal in time. So, if you're on St. Croix RIGHT NOW...you should get on over to the Abattoir and pick up some good food!
Did you know the St. Croix Abattoir used to sell meat to Puerto Rico? I thought this was a current news item but check out the date. I bet some of our old people know all about that! I've got some chickens and iguanas to send them...
A stripey new banana leaf. It will be open by dark.
The rain has stopped...for now. And we have a little while until the humidity factor kicks in so for the moment, it's cool and calm. Thus endeth the post. Oh, except for, at 5:30 this afternoon, Pat will be showing a slideshow she put together of Jack's Viking Send Off. Unless of course..it's pouring.
