you can get orchids anywhere from flea markets to orchid shows, or even just breaking off a colm from a mother plant and putting it in medium from dirt to moss to straw to tying it to a tree. the important thing is to give it a daily misting (you can go all out with special foods, sure, but the ones i've had for closing in on a decade seem happy without anything more than good old h2o, rainwater being the best - at least around here).

what do orchids have to do with tiny homes, mj? in my thinking, a big part of living in a small physical space means that more attention is focused on details, the lack of lots of 'stuff' means that what you do have beyond the practical should be pleasing to the eye and spirit; orchids can fill the bill. everything we surround ourselves with should have a purpose and as far as i am concerned, the pleasure beauty brings is as necessary as toilet paper.
