Halloween on Culebra, like any 'event' night on Culebra, usually comes with thoughts about a plan. We went out early, with a plan. The plan was basically, go home early. Plans are like diets, it's just better not to talk about either one sometimes, lest you want to be a liar.
Not that we got home terribly late, in the coin of the young. But by our own coin, bed would have been under butts rather than bar stools. Why did we not stick to the plan? Because it was fun! And fun is good! Good fun is even better. Trust me.
There are way too many photos here, but as we left Dinghy Dock and headed into town, there were too many great costumes to stop clicking. It was family, it was fun, it was Culebra at its most gruesome, gory, laughing best. Very local, very good! Well done, planners of fun and festivities!

John was Ground. Of course he was. Each object made sounds when you touched John (and became Ground). My favorite was the spoon that said 'Warning! Warning!. Jo liked the carrot. Of course she did. |

|
Parents got into it as much as the kids |

The Padron Zombie family. Ok, this creeped me out a little bit. |

A kiss from Daphne left me bloody cheeked. |

Shay and Kelli vamped up |
And then we hit the streets. Just for a little while, we said. Uh huh.

And back to where we started. It was time to head home. |
Today is also the Day of the Dead. Tomorrow too. You can
read all about it here. A loving holiday, and I raise my sugar skull to Sean, in honor of his favorite holiday.
|
"These molded sugar coffins are actually toys to delight the returning
spirits of children on November 1. Pull the string and a smiling
calavera skeleton pops out of his coffin!" from Mexican Sugar Skull |
The food part? Candy of course.
Have a first things first Friday. Do something fiesta-ish.
