Oops! I Forgot!

I forgot quite a few things yesterday, even if I did get a lot done. First, I forgot it was Tiny Home Tuesday here on the blog, because of being all excited about a drunk iguana. Ah, consistency! Be my friend. I AM working on one tiny place in particular though, permission is a good ting!

I also forgot that last night was a full moon night. And more than that. 'This month's full moon, which rises on Tuesday (Aug. 20), is not just a Blue Moon — it's also the Full Sturgeon Moon, the Full Red Moon, the Green Corn Moon and the Grain Moon.' Well, truthfully, I didn't forget it as much as forget to write about it and take a photo of it. I did the photo bit the night before.

My not quite so new camera is acting flukey. Use your imagination station.

One thing I didn't forget but only missed seeing were two waterspouts here yesterday that literally had car traffic stopped on the bridge and people traffic looking up lots of places.

I'm guessing that's Efrain checking them out from the ferry dock.

Also not forgotten was taking time to see the flowers. This is the second time this orchid has bloomed while I've been housesitting here. I'm so impressed with myself for not stealing it to take home.

I'm sure there's more I forgot, but I don't remember. Nothing of a serious nature, I hope; also hoping that not remembering to charge or carry one's phone around is not on a list of dire deeds (unless someone is in truly in need of being reachable). I might define that a bit differently than some who seem to believe that their phones are akin to little bitty life preservers and must be kept close at all times. In fact, that's an excellent, free marketing idea; it would be more difficult to lose a phone shaped as a life preserver ring that was waterproof. Ok, entrepreneurs, you know what to do.

Artist Xiaojie Zheng’s paintings perhaps most personified the themes of the Arts of Pacific Show as she combines both traditional Asian art motifs with distinctively contemporary images. Xiaojie studied art formally in college in China before moving to Holland to study art on a scholarship. In 1999 she moved to the San Francisco Bay area where she has been working ever since.

In her acrylic painting, “Reconciliation,” Xiaojie portrays herself as modern-day Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion, wearing a yoga tanktop as she perches on a lotus while clutching the many tools needed to complete the tasks in her daily life: a cell phone, rolling pin, paintbrush, shopping bag, photo of her children, etc.
