Happy 1st of July (and some other things)!

Yes, July is here, accompanied by groans of children knowing summer is half-way over and shouts of glee from the sellers of fireworks in the US. The oft startling sound of fireworks, cherry bombs, crackers et al will fill the air, scaring animals and worrying adults with small humans nearby. But wait! There is more!

July 1 is also

Drive Your Corvette to Work Day
Early Bird Day
International Chicken Wing Day

International Joke Day
National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day
National Financial Freedom Day

National Gingersnap Day

National Postal Workers Day

National Television Heritage Day
Second Half of the New Year Day

 U.S. Postage Stamp Day
Zip Code Day

Zip Code Day!!!! Oh my! I'm sure I'm not the only one who wondered what was going on that day we were informed our letters had to have a seemingly long number attached to the address, let alone remember our own area assigned number. It was the beginning of an end of an age of simpler times and most of us knew it.

  Here's to simpler times.

Elijah took over the grill at Dave and Inez's

They were busy giving me the tour

Chicken and lamb and potatoes oh my! And salad and more too

Up the many flowers covered hillside are the chickens in their temporary abode.

The new arbor. Well done, Dave!

A strange and wondrous plant. Cool, Dave!

Because someone who caught this shared and that person shared too,
we got this crabolicious bounty!
I meant to take a photo of this before  picking out and serving but...
instead, I'd get a big chunk and find the person who hadn't had any in a minute.
The last bits went into an impromptu dip.
Heaven!!

Another night with friends.

And more food, of course
So welcome to July! I hope in its heat or cold, depending on what hemisphere you live in, you will enjoy all that is typically good in this mid-season month.

Have a frolicsome Friday! Do something freely.
