no matter the name her beauty the same

november's full moon, in the northern hemisphere, is called the Beaver moon or the Frosty moon. even those of us in tropical climates get it. but we'd be more attuned to the southern hemisphere's more seasonally warm names like Corn Moon, Milk Moon, Flower Moon, Hare Moon. last night it was, for me, the Butter moon.

i'd gone to take a look to find only a glowing over the hillside, quickly deciding to come back in a bit, but walking up from the water to the yard proper, literally about 20 steps if that many, it had raced up, leapt up into view,  in 30 seconds.

her moon trail in the water grew longer, shifted, illuminating her rise in the sky.

water light became even more beautiful than its creator

finally, with the yard lit up enough to not need the flashlight i'd used to make sure of my footing - because i've skidded and fallen on that gradual slippery slope more than once and doing that sling armed would have been a really stupid fall - i headed back through a yard silent of any man made noise. only the barely audible chhhrrrrk of the chickens dream disturbed whispering in their sleep, with an occasional soft whickering from the horses next door came to me as i paused to give the rest of the star and planet full sky a scan.

the show will be that good tonight different but good, baring unforecast clouds, the same unforecast clouds that let loose big rains late in the night, beating on the tin roof. the cat snuggled closer and i went back to sleep.

into another day.

have a milk moon monday. do something mostly mellow.

  1. I can't decide which one I like the best. Love the second one with the aura of colors, but then the last two with the colors sparkling on the water....hmmm. Have you started physical therapy? Hope it goes well.
