Comings and Goings = Party Time!

I didn't know this guy; he seemed a little nutty
This is the time of year when people who work jobs involved with tourists and travelers go touristing and traveling themselves. Holiday homes are lightly booked or closed up until fall, restaurant staff can be trimmed with some juggling, and store hours might vary with business flow.

Destinations can be as close as the big island or far away - Serbia, Indonesia, England or Greece. Many opt for the states, where family and friends, scattered from the east coast, west coast and whatever lies between become road trip destinations, with sights and bites for the soul and belly on the way.

Where ever we're all going and for however long, it means: a party, for farewells until mutual returns. Travel plans are told one last time, who ever is taking over makes one last mark of dates and takes the keys. Good food. Good drink. Good company. Good music. And happy birthday, Miss Molly!

Celestial Chuck points out a lot of natural paintings to me. I'd not set down my backpack before he gave me this view.

Story trading

Chuck also showed me this mushroom. We decided not to put it on a table already groaning under pernil and shrimp and salads and cakes.

Mariel returned from her journeys and went from airport to party without a blink. Welcome home!!

Molly's 'porch' is a great place to have a party. And so we did.

Sam & Doug ~ an impromptu duo as folksy as their names imply

Pat and Molly let Doug, Amy Jo and Jeff sway their night

All manner of combinations for music made for good listening. That's what Mikey said.

Happy birthday was sung a few times, the food table went from bountiful to barely, and it was time for me to head on back to town. Many thanks to Molly for opening her home (and that amazing pernil!), the music folk who brought gear and skill and voice, food variety awesome as usual. Hugs and promises of photos and stories as yet unknown mixed with wishes for safe travels and lots of HAVE FUN! As in, relax, refresh, enjoy. See you on the flip side, happy trails, go on now, scoot. With love.

Have a trackless travel Thursday. Do something toe tapping.

    1. Of course not! I sit under palm trees and drink pina coladas all day. Isn't that what everybody does?

    1. Hmmm. I thought it was an island thing. Move to an island. Don't work, ever. Somehow remain radiant while you starve to death.
