Tiny Home Tuesday ~ Mike Basich

Mike  Basich is a guy whose tiny home - 225 square feet of awesome creativeness -  I've posted about before.

225 square feet looks pretty fine here
A famous snowboarding wizard, Mike Basich also comes across as just a really nice guy with some good story (he didn't just jump up and start snowboarding with mega backers for one thing; if you are interested and want some inspiration in following your bliss, you can watch his video Open Space - A Film: The Untold Stories of Mike Basich. It's pretty powerful).

Now he's built, for $6,000 dollars, a tiny home on wheels. If you are into slick and shiny, this isn't for you. If you are into being able to hit the road to chase whatever your bliss is on a small budget (yes, his truck is not small budget, but it is also part of his professional gear; you're on your own there) or have a low cost permanent sort of place, you might find some good ideas here.

It's cold outside but oh so warm inside.

In another life (one where I like cold weather) I want to be Mike Basich's girlfriend

Mike talks about part of his motivation for this build was that with the long drought snow in familiar places is now an iffy proposition. He needed to go find some in new places, and a place to be when he did.

So he did.

You can read all about the build from Mike here on the Solar Burrito blog.

Good story. Good guy. Cool tiny spaces and living a dream. That should hold you for a Tuesday and maybe a lot longer.

Have a (un)tame your thirsts Tuesday. Do something triumphantly.

  1. It always amazes me what can go into and how much space is in a home like this

    1. And you are getting ready to use space to make a room of your own...funny how that works out!
