We're not on STX anymore...

Wow. I think the last seven days lasted about a month! Linda and I were supposed to get back Thursday, but hey, there was Valentine's Day Jump Up Friday night - a wonderful big street party, and the Agricultural Fair Saturday, so how could we fly away from that? We WERE going to fly away from it on Saturday afternoon but our pilot seemed to get a little skied and the alternatives were few with the big doings...in the end, Seaborne and Vieques Air Link got us home...slowly, but surely and safely.

Here are some pics of how it was, sort of backwards...this is just a quick catch up, more stories to come as I go through the couple of hundred photos more carefully, to jar my memories. Because as said, I think we had about a month's worth of experiences in a week...easily. As ever, it is good to go, and ever so very good to come home.

Tim Mason - friend and longtime brewmeister at the Brew Pub, St. Croix

Another one comes home for Crucian roast pig from the Ag Fair

Michael Justus...known for his music, he's really in love with his new motorcycle named Joy

Linda gets an island tour from two of the best tour guides ever...here at the pig bar in the rainforest - officially, the Domino Club

Norma is queen of the Domino Club...a Norma hug is a hug from one of the goddesses...and her mamawana concoction of herbs, rum and...we really don't know...is pretty special too

At some point on the island tour, we got to Cane Bay, famous for its Wall among SCUBA divers, famous for breathtaking sunsets and yet another beautiful beach

This is from Fredriksted beach on the west end of St. Croix - getting better all the time

A new walkway, or new to me anyway, in F'sted - pretty!

A fabulous tree in Christiansted

A sailor I know (who's going to come over to Culebra any time now...uh huh!)

The cheese plate guy at Zebo's...this is one of those story's that will take a bit to tell...later - but oh my, just thinking about that bleu cheese makes my mouth go all happy

Miss Judith, who sells neat treats on the boardwalk, Tim the brewmeister and Columbus, all around talented guy and one of my first friends on STX - 3 faves

Tito, crab race organizer extraordianaire - along with his wife Sue, one of my favorite couples on St. Croix

So here are a few of the players & places that I'll be telling stories about; a taste of things to come (and there were a LOT of tastes!). There are quite a few people who read this blog who know most if not all of these people and scenes; so whether you're on St. Croix or far away and missing people & places, hope you enjoy the telling even a smidgen as much as I did the living.

More anon...
