Two Monday Moments
If you haven't heard the results of the mayoral election yesterday, here they are.
That would be Ivan Solis for the Red party and Ricky Lopez for the Blue party. Early after the elections, it looked like Alexis had won by five votes, but after a recount, Alexis agreed that Ivan won by five votes, a strong reminder to everyone everywhere that each vote really does count. Two good men ran a good race, with a very close victory for Ivan, a man of Culebra and for Culebra, who I would be proud to call Mayor in November. The honesty and integrity with which he ran his campaign is an example to be followed in the coming months. Congratulations, Ivan, family, and team.
The flea market benefitting the library will be continued today, starting at 9, at the library. There are still a lot of good items there, so check it out! A bag of clothes for a dollar, you stuff the bag. You could end up finding an outfit like this. Or not.
An outfit chosen to advertise the sale at Dinghy Dock. Not his usual style, but his wife was grinning.
Great legs, amigo!
We had a wonderful rain last night, a real rain that was soothing sleep music after the battery of truck music we've been hearing over the past weeks and particularly the past days. All with property and its potential fire hazards were breathing a sigh of relief for now with the first really good drenching we've had in awhile. The plants look like they grew a few inches and a few blooms overnight. Beautiful!
Today's calendar is full. Picking up a boat battery - ok, I won't be literally picking it up as it weighs 130 pounds, but it will be picked up. Chickens will be arriving, finally, thanks to Dee. I'm really excited about this and cannot wait to have good, fresh organic eggs on offer. Woo hoo and/or cluck cluck.
A good song for today! (thanks, Carol)
Have a let it mellow Monday. Do something methodically.
I will do my best to have a "Let It Mellow" day...
ReplyDeleteI believe you are implying I should delay the lawnmowing by yet another day....
Absolutely! Unless mowing the lawn is something you really enjoy doing (and some people do).
