Culebra Cat Round Up

There's been some cat corralling going on around here this week. And now they are getting fixed, yep, spayed and neutered, to protect them, us and the environment. Because cats like to eat all sorts of things, especially when they are starving to death. Things that shouldn't have cats as predators except in comic strips.
Now your help is needed. One way, physically, if you are on island. Head over to the big building by Palmetto Guest House (behind Carlos Jeeps) and walk on in. The vet is working way way overtime and help is needed! Just ask, you'll get something to do. If you can help by donating to Animal Welfare of Culebra, you're more than welcome to do that as well. To get in touch is easy!

Daphne's Dad Lewis is the undisputed King of Catch! I think I heard he trapped about 50 cats

There are sad cats, mad cats, mewling kitties, little lovers, weird cats (ok, most cats are weird). You name it, there is a cat here to fit the bill. They will all be returned to areas where cat colonies have been or are being established. A cat colony is a spot where a daily feeding happens under someone's watch and where many cats gather and live, for that feeding and any other handouts they can get. And you know how cats are when they are neglected and starving; they get fed and all they want to do after that is have sex and make more kitties who will suffer the same fate as themselves. No one ever claimed that cats have long term foresight (but someone will now, I bet).

As we were leaving, more cats were coming in. The limit was 100, which I'm sure was met and the vets started working this morning. You can help!!!! Right now. They are literally begging for help down there, so if you can, please head on over.

The cats, the land, the people and the flora and fauna of Culebra thank you!
