A Bouquet from Culebra

While rain seemed to be the theme of the day in many places, we got a few drops. The grey sky lingered low all day, making a dull backdrop for island greenery and blooms. Either that or the blooms just looked especially bright because we haven't had a properly blue sky for a few days now. Either way, it's pretty spectacular to take a walk around Culebra these days...a very s l o w walk.

After these blooms, a pearl-like berry forms that
all kinds of birds will feast on - getting very, very drunk.

This flower is so fragile, it barely seems to last a day

As noted above, lots of places in Puerto Rico are getting rain, so far we've had very little, though in the wee hours this morning the roof was getting plink-plinky. It looks like more to come. The weather system south of Jamaica is now Invest 94 and is the cause of all of this grey sky and rain pattern. It doesn't look like anything we have to worry about, unless you are a visitor and were looking for gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. The beach is still a great place to go, sunshine or not! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Have an inner-sunny Saturday! Do something shiny.
