Who Can Hear the Whales?

In a little while I'll be heading out to sea to see if I can hear whales singing, with a man who has recorded them for years and says the chances are pretty good as they've been around awhile now. I've heard the click and whistles of dolphins before, once surrounded by a pod of them as I floated in the water on the west coast of Florida. Yes, I'm going in search of magic. With headphones.

Last night no one had to go far or have any special equipment for magic to happen, as Monika took the mic for a few tunes. I don't think she could have had more of a show of appreciation, people on that part of the island must have all heard the whooping and applause. Loud noise is always best when it's happy.

Happy musicians
Happy listeners
A stop at Susie's on the way home turned into one of those times on Culebra. I can't quite remember the exact family connections but a woman and her husband sitting at the bar were related to a good friend to so many of us, scattered over a lot of islands and other earth spots, Peter Watson. Just thinking about Peter usually brings a smile to the faces of those who knew and loved him, so to have more stories and more connections kept us grinning. And then George said, 'I'm wearing his pants!' A left field sort of thing, but there it was...George inherited a lot of Peter's clothes, since Peter no longer needed them. Did he walk his pants and us into that bar at that moment? I wouldn't put it past him.

It is always nice to see Blue Guitar in the harbour. No, Eric Clapton is not her owner anymore.
In the middle of a busy day, it's always good to spend a moment with Spike.

It doesn't take much to please him - a spray of water for his favorite bathing spot will do.
Have a see what shows up Saturday. Do something with (ex)speculation.

p.s. Don't forget!!! Tomorrow is the the Sister's yearly sale! If you don't know how to get there, it's like this. Head up the road between the yellow roofed school and the playground. Turn left at the first road you come to going...left. Take the next right, yep, right up the hill, and keep going, all the way to the end of the road. You're there!
